WATER DIMMER is a Patented device (US 9,857,803) used to achieve water conservation in open loop, domestic, potable water supply systems.
The hardware is listed below. The hardware will be installed on the main water line into the home, downstream of the local water utility flow meter and upstream of the first takeoff line. No other equipment is needed in other locations for WATTER DIMMER operation for a single family home. The software will consist of all necessary configuration and programming to receive, store, process, generate, analyze and display all water pressure, water flow, ambient air temperature and control valve position analog input/output signals within a micro programmable logic controller and/or mini web server. The software will also be capable of displaying and tracking alarms for high or low process values and sending email alerts. The software will also have ability to characterize a specific event, such as turning on the kitchen sink tap, with water pressure / flow / control valve position data, over a specified time interval and store the characterized event. The characterized event will be come part of a database of such events and will be used for analyzing water usage patterns and recommending water conservation techniques.
